We support tāngata whai ora (people seeking wellbeing) to reflect, learn and connect so that they can live life to the fullest.
We want you to reach your goals living in the community of your choice, free from harms caused by alcohol, drug, or other addiction challenges.
Our services for adults | pakeke include opportunities to stay with us, or to receive support in the community.
Our residential options include a family centre where parents can be with their children while they participate in our adult programme. We also offer three smaller Te Wairua residences for tāngata whai ora who may need support with their mental wellbeing alongside challenges with addiction.

Residential Services
Our adult residence offers a long-term treatment programme for people experiencing issues with drug or alcohol use. The programme is based on a treatment approach called a therapeutic community or TC.
Our Family Centre provides a hopeful, openhearted and safe space for parents to be with their children, while they participate in our adult residential treatment programme.
Our Te Wairua service, which means ‘two streams of healing’, is available for people seeking support with mental health and addiction issues.

Community Services
We offer services and other support at our community hubs and in other community settings in Auckland and Northland
At our community hubs in Auckland and Whangarei, we support people who may be experiencing harms from their own (or someone else’s) challenges with drugs, alcohol or gambling.
In Auckland and Whangarei we offer free, weekly support groups for people seeking support for challenges with alcohol and other drugs.
We provide a safe, welcoming drop-in space for anyone impacted by mental distress or challenges with alcohol or other drugs.
Partnership Programmes
Te Whare Whakapiki Wairua (The house that lifts the spirit) is the Māori name given to the Alcohol and Other Drug Treatment Court, a partnership between Odyssey, the Ministries of Justice and Health, Higher Ground and The Salvation Army that was established in 2012 as an alternative pathway to imprisonment.
We offer 6- to 12-month group-based Drug Treatment Programmes at Auckland South Correctional Facility. Called Ngā Pou Tohutohu, it is an advanced bicultural approach to delivering treatment that focuses on oranga – people’s wellbeing - within the context of substance use.
We provide free, peer-led mobile hepatitis C testing services in Te Tai Tokerau and Te Manawa Taki. All services are confidential and walk-in: no referral is required.
